How Do I Make My Mom Smile?

My mother is the most selfless person I know.  She seems to only think of others, and never asks for anything, not even my time.  Every Sunday I take her to dinner.  It’s been a tradition since I returned home from college over 20 years ago.  My father passed away 7 years ago, and my two brothers don’t live in Miami, so I am the only family she has nearby.  Over dinner, she wants to hear all about my week.  I can only get her to speak about herself on rare occasions.  It’s fair to say that these dinners are her “social event” for the week.  Yet, every week she always tells me that “If you’re too busy next weekend, don’t worry about it.  I know you have so much to do.”   And, every week she answers her front door with a smile on her face.  I wouldn’t miss that for the world.
